So if you know you’re going to doing a half-night (4-6 hours), if not a full-nighter (you come back home in the morning), it’s wiser to use long-stay makeup. I did a bit of research and I found 3 foundations that proved to be very handy.
Pick a foundation that’s closest to your skintone: not a shade lighter. Now, now, why would you do that?<[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1808″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Stay-in-Place Makeup SPF 10: A variant of the classic DW Foundation, the liquid foundation is perfect for this season where beauty trends scream of ‘natural’. I tried the shade 2.0 which blended really well with my skintone and has a little bit of sheen to it, which is great for parties or events where you are, you know, important. Or want to be important and want to make an entrance.
A little heavier than what I expected when I took some in my palm, it’s really creamy, meaning your face won’t look, or feel dry through the night. You can use a foundation brush or a sponge, I just use my fingers which also helps ‘melt’ the formula, and blends easily. Just be a bit careful while using it ‘coz you don’t want to flatten out your features. Use a bit of highlighter and blush on your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose and forehead and you’d be ready to be the center of attention.
If you feel the foundation is too heavy or just won’t blend, dump the brush and just use with your fingers. The heat would help it get softer and you’ll get your job done, faster!

One of the things I enjoy most about Bobbi Brown Cosmetics are the number of shades you get to choose from. Most of the brands have 3, or 5, or 8, but here you choose at last 15-23 shades. I chose shade 4.25 which goes my skin tone.
The texture is creamy thanks to glycerin and shea butter in it. I just used a little bit of face cream to hydrate my skin before. You could use a bit of primer to prep your skin but even if you don’t, it’s cool. I think (and most of you), will agree that you don’t wanna look caked and this foundation is just perfect for that. Just use a little bit more on spots/darkened areas (under-eyes and the around the lips for me). I think this is perfect for late night parties or friends’ weddings where you’re gonna be sipping on a lot of JD and coke.

Za, a brand by Shiseido, stands out for its skincare products but this foundation caught my eye. I love products that are not too heavy on the skin and this is one of the very few who made the cut. It has 4 shades and I think I used number 21.
It comes with a sponge so dampen it (you can use water or your favourite spritzer) and then use the foundation over your face. In fact, you can even stash the foundation in the bag thanks to its packaging and do a touch-up (a dry sponge would work as a compact/translucent powder) when you feel like it. I feel this is more appropriate for brunch, day wedding functions or casual events/meetings where you don’t wanna go heavy duty, and look awesome.
When applying foundation, blend it evenly in an outwards direction.
