Thanks for tuning in! After exfoliating your skin on the first day of the week, comes Day 2 of your 7 Day Guide To Skincare regime and we think it’s a good time to take care of your eyes and the under eye area. Here are full details of Day 2 i.e. taking care and treating your eyes on the second day of the week.
Day 2 To Better Your Skin: Treat Your Eyes on Tuesday
You fought with your partner. You didn’t get enough sleep. You’re not using the right concealer. Your eyes say everything. And I mean everything. A targeted, once-weekly regimen with products designed for this delicate skin can minimise dark circles, puffy eyes, and wrinkles. Moisturising the under eye skin in circular motion takes away dryness. It’s important that the tiny capillaries under the eyes be stimulated. This massage is to help reduce lines and wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness.
Can I get rid of dark circles?
I’m not sure if you can do anything to completely get rid of the dark circles you already have. But yes, you can reduce their appearance and reduce of occurrence of newer, deeper dark circles.
Start by cutting down a habit: stop rubbing your eyes. Your under eye skin is 100 times more delicate than your facial skin. Excessive rubbing can break your capillaries and that’s what causes a bluish cast beneath your eyes.
Do I need an eye cream?
See, it’s not about our age as much as it is about our lifestyle. If you sit in front of your laptop, or log long hours on SnapChat, chances are your eyes also need some care. If you’re short on sleep and don’t really have any issues, use a good eye roll-on with caffeine or cucumber extracts.
What should I look for in an eye cream?
A number of creams are available in the market which can lighten dark circles. They include lightening agents such as Vitamin C, Kojic Acid, Arbutin, Azelic Acid. Use an eye cream with your ring finger. Make sure you spend about a minute to gently dab it under and over your eyes. The best time to apply an eye cream is at night, before you sleep.
Try The Body Shop Vitamin C Eye Reviver Duo or Aroma Magic Almond Under Eye Cream.
What about getting rid of wrinkles?
Retinol, a derivative of Vitamin A, is well known for upping collagen production and cell turnover. But because it’s so intense, choose a cream made specifically for the eye area. Try Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream,Vichy Liftactiv Retinol HA Eyes, H2O Plus Aquafirm Eye Lift Concentrate, or Olay Regenerist Eye Lift Serum.
What’s the best way to get rid of puffy eyes?
If you have time on your hands, there’s nothing safer, or amazing that natural ingredients. Try natural eye refreshers like a chilled slices of cucumber kept for around 10 to 15 minutes or a raw potato slice cooled in a refrigerator for 10 to 15 minutes.
Use rosewater on your eyes or just spritz some from a spray nozzle. My last and most useful hack is to use an ice-cube in and around your eye area: it really wakes you up and reduces the puffiness too.
Stay tuned to 7 Days of Skincare, we’ve got a great post coming up tomorrow!
