Best of Mocemsa, The Face Shop, Organic Harvest and Biotique

Hey, guys!

We’re back with another edition of some of our favorite beauty products of the month that I happened to try and love these past few weeks. So let’s get right to it:

  1. Mocemsa Water Lily EDP:

Now before I tell you a little bit about the perfume, I want to tell you about the brand. Mocemsa is a perfumery brand based in New Delhi–it’s a family run setup now taken over by brothers Paarth and Pulkit Malhotra. While Pulkit has learned perfumery at Grasse Institute of Perfumery, Paarth is very passionate about everything from packaging, (he recounted many stories of handmade bottles), branding and more. After being suppliers to many perfume brands, Mocemsa is their own brand that is priced up to Rs 5,000. They make their perfumes in Spain and are very passionate about what they do, which is what stands out when compared to mass production.

2. Water Lily EDP:

If you follow me on Instagram, you know I attended their launch event in Delhi last month. While I went around the table for a smelling session (haha!), Water Lily was an absolute favorite. In fact, I liked it so much I used the tester as a bookmark! They have 12 fragrances that range from floral, citrus, woody and spicy notes so I’m sure you guys will find a lot to like!

Rs 2,500

3. Organic Harvest Shine and Glow Cream

I’ve known Organic Harvest from the days I was at the Beauty Editor at Prevention India and I’ve really seen the brand evolve. This face cream is a part of Organic Harvest’s Iris Root Extract Range and comes with great packaging which as a customer, means a lot to me. The cream is actually a little heavy for the sticky weather in India right now but is great on texture. It doesn’t weigh your skin down but it’s definitely got that creamy consistency (which is something I crave for in winters!). Key ingredients include Beetroot extract, Bearberry extract, Iris root extract and Pro Vitamin B5. I’ve quite liked this cream and I use it almost daily, but at night just because I don’t want to my pores to get clogged in the heat. PS: It retails at a higher price but if you want to go organic in your beauty regimen, you should consider this one.Rs 1,495

4. Biotique Bio Cucumber Pore Tightening Toner:

I’ve learned it the hard way and I will never forget this lesson: a toner is very important for clear, glowing skin and I almost never skip it. Come monsoon and a lot of you may be facing breakouts or just lacking freshness because of the humidity. You can actually splash this toner on a clean face: the smell of mint, cucumber (coriander too) is so citrusy that’ll wake you up if that’s your jam. I usually use a fragrance-free toner and found this to be very surprising. The toner is water-based and alcohol-free. I’m not sure if it can help minimise pores permanently–but it can definitely help you feel fresh, invigorate your senses after a tiring day and help maintain the pH balance of your skin. Plus, it’s Ayurvedic, and mild on skin.
Rs 175

5. The Face Shop Pore Care Face Mask:

Korean skin care has been such a rage, and while I personally find their skincare regime very intensive, I’ve very happily added three things from a Korean skincare routine to mine. One of them is sheet masks. I happened to use this one last week after working 8-10 hours. To make most of this mask, I actually put the sheet in the fridge (sealed of course) and then applied it. This mask had tannins, which basically helps reduce shine. I had it on for 30 minutes as I binge watched Game of Thrones. When I peeled it off, the mask off it was completely dry, meaning all the essence had transferred onto my skin. After patting the leftover essence onto my face, I went into deep slumber. Morning arrived with better-looking skin–the pores on my nose looked smaller for sure!
Rs 150So that’s it, you guys! Hope you enjoyed this edition of some of our favorites! Don’t forget to shower some love on our social media pages and also share your comments/views in the comments below.
