Hey guys! Welcome to another sesh of brand roundups! Today, I’m going to write about Aaranyaa: a homegrown ayurvedic brand. I’ve known about Aaranyaa, an affordable skincare brand since 2012 back when I was in India Today. Mr. Nagendra Pal Singh, Founder, Aaranyaa used to come himself on PR rounds and always had a genuine interest in all things skincare. Fun fact, he takes feedback so seriously, his number is on the back of every product label. Later, I had the pleasure to handle their social media and influencer marketing program. I’ve tried most of their products, but today I’m going to talk about some of the best products from Aaranyaa that also have rave reviews.
A few things you should know about Aaranyaa
- Most of their products are sulphate-free, phthalate-free
- They use mild preservatives
- Their products are very affordable
Aaranyaa Sulphate Free Seabuckthorn Shampoo, Rs 495
Not only has Aaranyaa Seabuckthorn Shampoo been around longer than other sulphate-free shampoos, but it also has excellent reviews for women with curly hair. It uses Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, which is a coconut-based surfactant (not a sulphate) which produces enough foam (if you hate that about sulphate-free shampoos) along with seabuckthorn, aloe vera, lavender, geranium and rosemary. Not only does it help get rid of frizz in your hair, but it also relieves mild itching and product buildup.
Aaranyaa Hair Pack – Argan Oil, Rs 445
Aaranyaa Argan Oil Hair Pack is one of the most talked-about products from this brand. This is also a signature product sent out to many bloggers in my time as their social media manager, and it mostly got rave reviews. Argan Oil or Moroccan Oil is heavy in itself. Add to that, argan oil, amla, bhringraj, shikakai, vitamin e and green tea to condition all hair types and it becomes a mini hair spa at home. I tried it a few times, but since I have straight hair, my hair felt very soft but a little weighed down. The trick is to apply it only for 15-20 minutes or use it as a conditioner. This product is loved by many beauty bloggers, Nykaa reviewers and many women with curly hair.
Aaranyaa Tea Tree + Moringa Face Wash – Sulphate Free, Rs 225
This facewash can be compared to cult favourites like Medimix Ayurvedic Face Wash (and soap), or newer products like Mama Earth’ s Tea Tree Facewash for acne & pimples, but the ingredients set it apart. I recall The Body Shop is one of the first brands in India to launch a tea tree oil range and Aaranyaa’s Tea Tree Oil + Moringa Face Wash is a close second. It is a unique face wash in the already crowded Ayurvedic face wash segment. Apart from the strong smell (I hope it’s the ingredients and nothing synthetic), the facewash combines tea tree oil and moringa powder which is not that common a combination. I used it once a day back when I had this face wash. It’s a good pick for pimple-prone skin. By the way, there’s nothing more refreshing than using these ingredients after a hot, sweaty day.
Aaranyaa Anti-Bacterial Neem Tulsi Face Wash, Rs 225
A common ingredient in Ayurveda, Neem, is antibacterial and antifungal in nature, and is used broadly in Ayurveda. Aaranyaa’s Neem Tulsi Facewash can be compared to Himalaya’s Purifying Neem Face Wash, Aroma Magic Neem & Tea Tree Face Wash Acne Control & Oil Balancing (Oily Skin), Biotique Bio Neem Purifying Face Wash, and Khadi Natural Neem Herbal Face Wash. Again, what separates it is the fact that apart from Neem, it also has Tulsi (holy basil) extracts along with the usual rosemary-geranium too. It’s got rave reviews, and I would say, it’s a decent buy.
Aaranyaa Youth Preserve Day Cream SPF 15 & Night Cream – Okra, Rs 695
Aaranyaa’s Youth Preserve Day Cream With SPF 15 and Aaranyaa’s Youth Preserve Night Cream are the only anti-ageing products from the brand. Imagine a slimy vegetable like okra has anti-ageing benefits right? According to research, okra is high in vitamin C, vitamin K, and folate content and antioxidants like B1 and B2, quercetin, rutin, catechin, and epicatechin. Apart from okra, Aaranyaa’s Youth Preserve Day Cream SPF 15 and Night Cream Both have ashwagandha, moringa oil, cocoa butter and shea butter. It’s got great responses from people with dehydrated skin and pigmented skin too. If you’re looking for an Ayurvedic concoction to your PM skincare routine, check it out.
Aaranyaa Soft Heel Cream, Rs 275
Sandals season (which is round the year in India) calls for moisturized heels. If you’re pushing 30, you will notice that your feet are drier than usual, which means applying a feet cream 4-5 times a week (I try!). There’s not much to say except it’s a thick cream that has neem, beeswax, turmeric, amla, shea butter. Plus, the clove oil helps repair cracked heels calluses.
Aaranyaa SugruB – Satin – Face & Body Sugar Scrub, Rs 695
I love whipping up a sugar scrub at home with rosewater or sugar, honey and coffee. Still, I found Aaranyaa SugruB – Satin – Face & Body Sugar Scrub to be an affordable scrub for an pre-shave session. I usually shave my arms and legs once a week and before that, I try to scrub my body with a sugar scrub. It’s specifically perfect for elbows, knees and clogged hair follicles (that leave a black mark on your legs). To know more about physical exfoliators vs chemical exfoliators, click here.
