After witnessing the bizarre outfits at the Met Gala, it is finally time to take a break and decode the style statement of the A-list celebrities at the French Riviera . Like every year, the actors made the headlines at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival. The Divas of the bollywood film industry were spotted, upping their fashion game in France. From Cannes debutant Priyanka Chopra (hard to believe it was her first time) to the queen of bollywood Deepika Padukone, all of them made sure the surprise us creatively!
Let’s have a look at what they all wore all the looks that Bollywood’s Best wore to Cannes Film Festival 2019!
Priyanka wore a custom black-and-rose gold sequin Roberto Cavalli creation. The strapless gown featured a long train and thigh-high slit and to complete the look she paired it with silver Chopard earrings and rings.
After astonishing her fans at the Met Gala this year, anything she would wear would be subtle!
The Baywatch actress could’ve done much better to make a good first impression at Cannes.
Priyanka Chopra looked like a vision in white. She wore a classic Honayda corset dress with a pleated skirt for the screening of film 5B
Priyanka was spotted walking hand-in-hand with her husband Nick Jonas giving us major couple goals. She wore a plunging neckline ice blue gown by Rick Owens clubbed with a gorgeous corset lace belt by Azzedine Alaïa and rounded off the look with a fedora hat! It was perfect just as it sounds.
Deepika’s day 1 look included a cream gown by Peter Dundas along with an “in your face” brown bow which turned out to be rather overwhelming. On the other hand her hairstyle was on point, and the dramatic makeup was brilliant.
The Padmaavat actor kept her Instafam updated with all her looks. Some believe that her fashion choices were influenced by her hubby Ranveer Singh, who never fails to surprise us with his iconic sense of style. However, her day 2 looks impressed all!
The first outfit was a striped blue and white suit with a pop of colour added by her bright orange heels.
Her second outfit was a dress with a neon green top by every millennials favourite brand “Off-White”. She wore it with black sneakers and green sunglasses.
The third outfit included a white sheer top on a pair of white pants and the fourth one was a long floral dress with large bow at the neck.
Last but not the least, Deepika’s look 5 was basically her being Ranveer Singh!
She was really enjoying living the lime green life as she mentions in one of her instagram captions!
Jokes apart, we have to agree that she really did go a little overboard in her Giambattista Valli Couture gown. It featured long ruffled sleeves, as well as a bow at the collar and a belted waist. The pink Emily London headdress was something that really stood out!
Sonam Kapoor Ahuja
We’re completely in love with the magic that Sonam Kapoor brings to the red carpet thanks stylist cum sister Rhea Kapoor. This duo is always experimenting with new trends and styles. The Bodycon dress beneath the sheer one just accentuates her curves and of course the Valentino red! The whole look was ravishing. Her face looked fresh with nude pink lips and beautiful eye makeup to complete the look.
After slaying the red carpet in a red Valentino, it was time to break the monotony in a royal and an eye-catchy gold outfit by one of her all-time favourite designer labels Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla. The outfit earned her the title of “Maharani” of Bollywood all over the internet.
Sonam Kapoor is the ultimate fashion icon of the bollywood industry and she never leaves any opportunity to impress us with her style. Last year, Sonam walked the red carpet the morning after she got married.
This year she made sure all eyes were on her. She look glamourous at the red carpet (yet again) wearing a custom made asymmetrically draped #RalphAndRusso tailleur. It was a “look at me” ensemble summed up with Chopard jewelry- a green emerald necklace and earrings.
The former ‘Queen’ actress went with a vintage vibe in a fusion saree. It was a golden Kanjeevaram saree by Falguni Shane Peacock. She wore it over an embellished off-shoulder corset blouse and her hair & makeup complemented the whole ensemble. She made it a point to embrace her personality by breaking the norms and creating her own rules. The look was poorly styled and it didn’t really work in her favour.
Now this is a first!
Hina Khan, a popular television actress from India made her Cannes debut. The actress won everyone’s heart with her stunning looks as she walked down the red carpet in a grey embellished gown with a deep neck by Zia Nakad. The actress tied her hair in a bun and sported dewy make-up. Her confidence as a first timer was commendable!
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
It was Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s 18th consecutive appearance at The film festival in France and she aced it!
Aishwarya attended the festival premiere of “A Hidden Life” along with her daughter Aaradhya. She wore a mermaid-like metallic gold gown with a long trail from Jean-Louis Sabaji couture. She made sure to resemble a mermaid!
For her second red carpet look, Aish wore a white off-shoulder tiered gown. The ensemble looked perfect with a theatrical feathered cape by Ashi Studio. She completed the look with kohl-rimmed eyes and accessorized it with exquisite diamonds dangling earrings.
All her looks were pretty chic and super elegant. They definitely made the headlines across the globe!
Her first outfit was a red and white bandeau striped maxi dress designed by Leal Daccarett. Aishwarya’s second pick was an embellished denim cape paired with denim pants. Third pick was a multi-coloured jacket teamed with red lips and stilleto.
Diana Penty was a part of the Cannes debutant clan. She opted for a traditional attire however, with a modern twist by wearing a white and gold satin saree by Indian designer Amit Aggarwal. She made sure to style it well with a pearl necklace, matching earrings and a bracelet by Aquamarine. To complete her all white look she wore ivory heels by Sergio Rossi. The element that gave her outfit a modern approach was the belt on her waist and the thigh-high slit.
Huma Qureshi wore a silver elaborated gown by Gaurav Gupta it was multilayered featuring multiple twirls all across the skirt and the torso as she walked down the red carpet representing the vodka brand Grey Goose.
We already cannot wait for next year to witness more of these spectacular fashion inspirations!
