Welcome back to my blog! Winter is in full swing—you saw me in Delhi, making most of winters and going on long walks with Coolpad 1. Today I’m going to talk about celebrating Lohri last month and making most of the dual-rear-camera phone (that indeed makes it rare), Coolpad Cool 1.
Going down Memory Lane
I’ve never actually admitted it but growing up both my sister and me, were very fond of Lohri. Growing up in DDA flats (closely knitted apartments), we’d huddle up in front of the parking area, as the most elderly couple of the generation would light a bonfire to say goodbye to winters! The smell of popcorn, the taste of jaggery and the feeling of building a community are some things I’m going to remember all my life.
This time, it was all about going back memory lane, hand-in-hand with my Coolpad (no offense iPhone 6S). Since we don’t celebrate Lohri at home (besides eating yummy food), I headed to my colony club.
Having spent some time exploring the settings, I wasted no time in getting a few shots of the set up of Maharani Bagh Club where a few old-timers (including me this time), newlyweds and a baby or two showed up.
Coolpad Cool 1 Camera
Coolpad 1 offers a dual-camera setup (different from a phone that offers 2 cameras) meaning one camera clicks photos in RGB, while the other clicks photos in monochrome. The information from the two shots is then merged, which results in a single, better-looking photo. The Dual camera technology is offered at an affordable price is one of the key features that sets the phone apart in the market. However, the processor plays a key role in the performance. Coolpad Cool 1 uses newer technology with Snapdragon 652 when compared to other phones that offer dual-camera technology like Honor 6X.
Now I did a little bit of research before shooting the fire, and I got to know that the slower your shutter speed, the better the details.
So I started off by taking photos of the bonfire using the PRO mode—and then switching to SLR.
The SLR mode is superbly easy to use: since the background was dark (thank you Winter!), I didn’t really feel the need to fiddle around with the settings.
Here are a few examples:
I even ended up going closer to the flames—mind you; my cheeks went red in a nano-second.
Thankfully, I could even capture a picture of the sparks in the air—which is usually not very easy to come by.
A photo session followed by a handful of popcorn and revris made for a perfect way to make most of winter 2017.
Post that, I actually sat around the bonfire and got to know a few people from my community—something that doesn’t happen too often anymore!
My favorite details about Coolpad Cool 1
Here are a few more details about the camera:
-5.5-inch display with 1920 X 1080 p
-Dual Rear Cameras and One Front Camera: 13 MP (each) and 8 MP
-Finger recognition at the right place i.e. at the back of the phone!
-The camera has 4 modes: photo, video, beauty mode (a plus for me!) and Pro. Also has features like AF, panoramic mode, and SLR mode.
-I also liked the bokeh effect that makes the results look more professional–great for an age where everybody cares about the quality of pictures we use on our social media accounts!
I hope you liked this post! Please do feel to share your memories and thoughts about the post!
