So I am basically into pinks and oranges and was mourning the demise of my favourite orange lipstick, when I got this. This is the new matte mandarin from Clinique’s Long Long Soft Matte Lipstick range.
A bright shade—to say the least, it seems to have a tinge of red, a plus point for those of you who love a red pout.
So I tried a swatch before I applied it and as far as the texture goes, they did a job in naming it: it’s not overbearingly matte and won’t leave your lips dry. Neither is it glossy and will probably not feather out. Take a look for yourself. (Psst: try ignoring my varicose veins) I have always felt that we all go to Clinique for their skincare because they are non-comodegenic, they suit sensitive skin and (are not tested on animals) but a lot of us sometimes forget how good their make-up is too.
So the brand claims to use Cetyl Octanoate, an ingredient that develops colour to its true intensity and silica for the formula to set. And it did, I could go 2-3 hours without a touch-up despite sipping on chai. I am saving you from a close-up but here is what it looked like on me
Last word: A good pick for the festive season.
Apologies for the bad pictures, I am trying to get better with #iphonephotography
