Award shows are great to watch. It’s great entertainment, it’s glamorous, we get to see big names, bigger designers and creative make-up artists and hairstylists help celebs put their best foot forward.
But this time was different.
The 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards were different: it was one of the few instances when the red carpet saw a new awakening. Last night saw the biggest names in the media industry using one of the biggest events on TV to express their views on inequality and sexual harassment with Time’s Up Now.
It was a birth of a movement, and those who agreed showed up in solidarity.
These include Oprah Winfrey, Kelly Clarkson, Nicole Kidman, Meryl Streep, Chrissy Metz, Jessica Chastain, Debra Messing, Eva Longoria, Reese Witherspoon and Claire Foy.

As a woman, a blogger, a writer, I’m happy to say it doesn’t feel like a PR stunt. It feels like people are finally waking up. It also feels great to use the medium–makeup, fashion, the red carpet, the podium for things you really care.
Here is the time to make a change so none of us every have to say #MeToo.
Like Elizabeth Taylor said “Now is the time for guts and guile.”
