[vc_row full_width=”” parallax=”” parallax_image=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Do you have the long bob fever? (I admit, I surely did). Not too short, not too long, the LOB (or the long bob) is a chic, trendy haircut that suits just about anyone. Everyone (who is anyone) has this cut these days; from Emma Stone, Alexa Chung, Taylor Swift to Sonakshi Sinha, Anushka Sharma and Frieda Pinto closer to home. You can wear it straight and sleek, rock the beach waves, pin it or braid it up.
ASK YOURSELF: DO YOU NEED A CHANGE?
What better time than the end of 2014 to bring a change?
I did it much earlier in the year though. To be honest, I was terrified; I mean I was as attached to my hair as anyone. But I knew it was time for a change. A change is what I wanted, and a change is what I got (and the compliments didn’t hurt). Since I have a round face and straight hair, I opted for an angled bob.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1742″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]
THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
Before you take the plunge though, here are some things you MUST know:
-No, just because it’s short, it doesn’t imply low maintenance
It does dry sooner but styling it takes just as much time if not more. Don’t fret, a simple way out is to choose a shape that compliments your hair texture. (If you have straight hair, it’s the shizz)
–
You’ll use less shampoo.
Short hair means your hair care product bottles will last longer, yay for your pocket!
-You’ll be visiting the salon more often.
Yes ladies, you will need to find a hairdresser you love because you will be seeing a lot of him/her. Long hair can go a longer time without a trim but with the bob, you will need frequent trims to the swagger goin’.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1743″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]
-It will not be as easy to conceal bad hair days.
You will need to up your game when it comes to the days where your hair seems to have a brain of their own, tying them in a bun will just not work anymore. (A beret might work!)
-You will definitely turn heads.
Everything said and done, the lob will amplify your look times infinity. Well of course being me, I’d worked out every contingency in sight before I chopped off my long long hair.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1745″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]
SOME ADVICE
Someone with a square face shape will look better with a layered lob, it gives a more textured look. Whereas someone with a longer, more oval face shape will look great with a lob that has a fringe. It is a very versatile cut, so there is something for everyone!
