A regular Friday night turned up a notch with an invite to the sleepy-yet-chic MG road at Oliver Bar & Kitchen. The intention was noble: Toni&Guy and Manish Arora (in collaboration with Harper’s Bazaar India) came together to show us the latest hair and fashion trends from Paris Fashion Week for those of us who didn’t apply for our Schengen visas on time.
The location was dreamy (if only the weather gods had been generous too), which made the evening come together. Bright colours, plush fabrics, fluffy pillows and feather bands hinted at the decided theme of boudoir.

While I didn’t find the appetizers too easy on the hands, (is nobody else watching Masterchef?), the bartender introduced me to a special menu full of martinis which thankfully ended at an ‘Old Fashion’ (whiskey with bitters).
The evening progressed with a mix of fellow bloggers (lovely girls), fashion designers and socialites (with a very high and expensive style quotient) along with the very stylish Bazaar team.

As we waited for the models to get ready, the musical compositions of a 3-member jazz band (known better as The Super Id) kept me engaged. While Sudarshana hit the right notes, this dude’s beard was stare-worthy.
[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”” img_link_target=”_self”][vc_column_text]Here’s a better angle. See what I mean?[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”” img_link_target=”_self”][vc_column_text]Soon, came the moment of truth: three beautiful models, one stunning showstopper a.k.a Indrani Dasgupta in Manish Arora’s finest. Toni&Guy too made a statement on mane trends (see, no straight hair!).[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”” img_link_target=”_self”][vc_column_text]And as all good things do, this night too came to an end. But not easily. In fact, a BMW-Audi baraat choked the pick-up point of The Olive Bar.
Finally, my turn came to sit in my modest vehicle. As I made my way back home, Sudakshana’s voice continued to echo into my ears, making me wonder what life would have been in the 20s.
My thoughts were soon interrupted: the driver introduced me to his version of retro—songs by Kumar Sanu and Anuradha Paudwal topped his list.
Sigh!
