One of the most relatable fashion trends for me, minimalism or the philosophy of ‘less is more’ has been around for a few years now. If you’re giving yourself and your wardrobe a makeover, clearing out the clutter from your winter buys and investing in key pieces could make you ace being a minimalist.
This could include investing in a few key pieces that appeal to your aesthetics, style quotient and everyday life. For instance, if you work in a corporate setup, your wardrobe would slightly have to be more elaborate than for me, who works from home.
Today, I am going to speak about a few key pieces that made it to this ensemble.
Black pants: Call them leggings or slim-fit jeans, I think having a few pairs of black lowers is an essential ‘coz quite simply put, black is black. There is not a person, and I say a person (not a woman) who CANNOT NOT carry it off. I have recently bought 2 pairs and the one I chose to wore is high waist, a mix of wool and polyester and is comfortable. You can invest in a good pair of trousers with a more relaxed fit or mid-waist fit according to your liking.
White jumper: White and Grey are my two favourite colours to strike a classic minimalist look and this time I chose a white sweater. This jumper is not even new, in fact it is at least 5 years old yet it’s lint-free, warm and in-style. It’s not too short or long and can be worn very comfortable. So please add a white sweater to your wardrobe. If you like knits or plaits, do that, there are a rage on Pinterest.
Ankle length boots: It may not be cold enough to wear calf length boots in Delhi but it’s a good time to take out your ankle-length booties. Invest in a good brand that promises durability and comfort. I wouldn’t want to buy these every year out of necessity!
Sunnies: There can be no Winters without a pair of sunglasses. I am sporting browline sunglasses (thick on the top, slimmer rims downside) or retro square ones I wore all summer. Choose a style that suits your favourites this season but invest in classic frames in round, oval and wayfarer shapes.
Makeup: This is the time to use a liquid foundation but since I didn’t want my skin to feel too weighed down, I used ZA True Liquid Foundation and swiped some Lakme 9 to 5 Mousse Foundation. For my eyes, I used FACES eye kohl in black to create a winged eyeliner. I have hooded eyes so I just draw it out towards the end. I just opened my new pot of blush, Maybelline Cheeky Glow and finally used a swipe Lakme Absolute Matte Lipstick with a swipe of Burts Bees Lip Balm in Red.
