I have to admit that lately, I’m all about liquid lipsticks. If you were to go through my bag, you’d find three liquid lipsticks at any given day. The good thing about liquid lipsticks? The long stay formula for one. The fact that it doesn’t feather if you set it right and the fact that it doesn’t get light no matter how many times I kiss my husband. The bad part? Liquid lipstick is usually hard to remove.
We had a joke at my ex-office when swatching liquid lipstick. “Ya, you put it on girl…It’ll only come off tomorrow!”
Truth is, you can wash it off or use the fiercest cleansing milk on your favourite liquid lippie but you’re always left with a slight tint. So I took it upon myself to figure out a routine that removes liquid lipstick thoroughly.
Here is the fullproof two-step plan to get rid of liquid lipstick in one go!
- Start by layering your pout with a dollop of Vaseline. Yes, on top of your lipstick. Make sure you’re generous with it.
- Let this be on for at least 1 minute. I usually use this time to take off my base and eye makeup.
- Dab some micellar water onto a cotton swab and use it to wipe off your liquid lipstick. I’m usually a bit heavy handed with this step just to make sure I get it all off. That’s it! That’s all you have to do. And I promise you, you’ll be left with no stains.
