Back when I was 25, I used to wear a lot of jumpsuits. Till I figured a few of them were rompers and looked too casual at work. And the worst part? They were so difficult to pee in. I mean, I couldn’t keep asking my colleagues to zip me up after every bathroom break. So I steered off from buying jumpsuits for years altogether. A week ago, I attended the AW 2018 Preview for Cover Story and was delighted to find a jumpsuit I could easily wear to work.

Look For Tailored Fabrics
Instead of looking at cotton which gets creased very easily, look for a jumpsuit with tailored fabrics like this one. The classic grey checks were a bonus for me.
Opt for a flattering neckline
Both collar and halter necklines are very popular when it comes to jumpsuits so you could opt for it depending on your build (narrow, athletic or broad), and comfort. I’ve not really worn strapless necklines too many times in my life but I thought this neckline highlighted my decolletage but wasn’t too revealing at the same time. So I can safely wear it to work without having to worry about how much I’m showing.
Look for a side zipper when buying a jumpsuit
I know what you’re thinking, why am I writing this? But this is the most practical tip I can give you. Back zippers can be a task at hand, especially when you’re at work or at an event. So look for a jumpsuit with a side zipper and a hook so that you can zip it down all by yourself!
Accessorize it with pumps and gold jewellery
Since this jumpsuit had a bit of flare, I thought it’s best to wear heels. If the length would have been slightly more tapered, you can get away with pumps or ballerina shoes too. I wore a layered necklace, along with a ring and a dual-toned watch I wear almost every day. Since gold matches everything, gold-toned jewellery (both rose gold and yellow gold) is fail-proof.
Wear high waist underwear
This tip will specifically help those of us with a muffin top. My problem areas are my midsection: stomach and thighs and I find wearing a high waist underwear just helps structures it better.
