According to the latest figures, over 1 million selfies are taken on a daily basis. While those of us between the ages of 18-24 were proven to more guilty than the others, a whopping 33% of us admitted to altering their selfies (source: social times.com)
Being a blogger and an active digital media influencer, I too, take a few selfies every day! So I’m always up to try anything that makes me spend less time to edit my photos and make me look my best.
While I haven’t tried the new selfie phone from Vivo, called V5, here’s what I know about it:
Vivo V5: Recent Launch
The fast-growing smartphone giants Vivo are back with another handset. This one is called the VIVO V5 and is designed specifically for the selfie lovers. The VIVO V5 was announced as the perfect selfie gadget in November and is available in markets now . Also, this was the first model from VIVO that was sold in India before China for the first time.
VIVO V5 offers a 20MP selfie camera
I am currently using the iPhone6S which has a 12 MP camera but Vivo V5 rides high on a 20 MP camera. While the perfect selfie became the need of the hour lately, there was a certain space in the current market for camera-centric models in the medium budget price range–and that void just disappeared! Camera features include geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection auto focus, panorama, HDR and an all new Moonlight Mode. The Moonlight mode helps to adjust the LED flash intensity depending on where you are and how much light you need.
The 20MP camera is paired with an 8” sensor at the front. The quality of images as well as videos, (1080p at 30fps), shot from this device would be no less than any Canon Powershot model(a dedicated camera in the same budget bracket). The camera on the back is of 13MP also with face detection auto-focus, LED flash, and effective sensor.

VIVO V5 full specs and review
While the camera is its USP, it’s hard for any mobile phone to run smoothly without relevant hardware to back it up. Here are some pointers to help you get to know more about its specifications!
-The body of the phone is sharp and slim. It comes with a 5.5-inch display (bigger than iPhone 7).
-It runs on Octa Core Processor, meaning it has 8 cores to divide up the work. This is different from a quad core which has 4 cores to do all the multitasking with you. I must admit, I was caught up in the debate of what’s better Octa Core or a Quad Core, you can read the debate here .
-It also has 4 GB of RAM along with 32 GB internal memory ensure smooth processing, multitasking, and response in general.
-Vivo V5 makes most of a Funtouch OS on the very versatile Android Marshmallow: I get the impression that its super easy to navigate.
-For butter fingers like me, it has a Gorilla Glass coating (I’d still put a cover though).
-The sensors include Proximity, Accelerometer, compass and a very handy fingerprint sensor on the front.
-I’m also intrigued with the audio quality of Vivo V5. The active noise cancellation and dedicated mic features are very efficient.
-A battery of 3000 mah ensures a good power backup span.
-This is a dual sim phone with expandable memory up to 256 GB. Yes, 256 GB. That means you can take as many clicks and shoots and get tired(or bored or diverted) before your space inflates.

Price
The market price of the VIVO V5 model is INR 17,890/-. It is available at all offline retails near you.
So if you’re looking for a selfie-sufficient camera (19.7 MP of clarity and precision), then you must consider Vivo V5.
