Every year I promise myself, this winter will be different.
I will spend more time outdoors, bask in the sun, love my city a little more than I do in summers.
Yet each year, I fail. I fail to go to the park—I fail to sit on the bench and do absolutely nothing. Not this time.
Hello, Coolpad Cool 1!
The start of 2017 was a bit shaky, the pollution did get to me, leading to the nasty flu. For those of who follow me on Twitter, saw me attending the launch of Coolpad Cool 1 at Hotel Lalit a few days ago.
The press conference boasted a phone with good features, including 13 MP cameras (two, at that) and most of all a chairman/CEO who was willing to take feedback.

All that at Rs 13,999. Hmm, should I be skeptical? A few days later, I received MY Coolpad Cool 1.
Features of CoolPad Cool 1
A minimal phone box that had all information you need to boot the phone, it also had a screen guard with it. Isn’t that thoughtful, I thought to myself?
The first thing I noticed about the phone was how thin and light the phone was—a mere 173-gram phone with a 5.5. inch screen is quite encouraging, to begin with. Top of the line technology, Android 6 OS, 4 GB RAM are some features to brag about. But what’s the prize? The dual cameras, of course. The rear camera is 13 MP whereas the front camera boasts of 8 MP.

No more Monday Blues
Monday mornings are usually the bane of the week. A horde of emails, a sense of hurry and panic are some of the feelings most of us associate with Mondays. Not this week.
I put all work on hold (some was done) and wanted to celebrate seeing the sun after 3 days. So I headed out the nearest park, hand in hand with CoolPad Cool 1.
The camera has 4 modes: photo/video/beauty/night and pro. Other features include auto-focus, HDR, and f/2,2 aperture. Seeing that the sun was in its understated glory, I made the most of it.

According to experts, going to a park is the healthiest things you can possibly do. The color green is very good for your eyes whereas earthing, the mere act of coming in contact with the soil itself helps you connect with Earth’s natural energy.

As I walked through the park, I saw more and more people of all ages: children playing, exercising and elderly people enjoy a moment of peace and solitude.

It’s all about the little things.
I’m a firm believer that life is about little things. Be it the sun shining brightly in your face or little flowers blooming, everything can be motivational.
What I like about the camera on Coolpad Cool 1 is just that: it captures the details very well.

I was shooting on the pro mode, and I decided not to really play around with the settings, keeping the ISO auto since shooting in daylight is always fun.
In this particular shot, I forgot to focus but AF took care of it.

Here are a few more details of the little things I found as I walked around the park.

As I was leaving, I took these two photos. In the first one, I used the auto mode. And in the second one, I used the daylight mode to give it that yellow effect.

I left, feeling refreshed and high on energy—promising to make most of Delhi winters and good moments captured on the phone.
All in all, I have to say I’m quite impressed with the potential of dual cameras the phone has to offer. In my next adventure, I hope to use the long exposure mode and get some good panoramic shots too!
Stay tuned to my blog and my Instagram—we’re going to make the most of it.
