These photos from our engagement ceremony are probably the nicest of the lost. You see it was raining quite heavily on all three days we were there. And I remember the moment Sri was putting the ring on me, it was raining.
Some said the gods were blessing us. I was just concerned about the dragonflies getting under my lehenga.

The night before our wedding was probably the only night we got to chill with our friends who’d come all the way to Jaipur.
After chilling till about 1 (or was it 2?), we woke up to the morning of the wedding. I was partially excited and mostly nervous—so I did what I always do, I spoke to Srijan and asked him to attend my choora ceremony.
This was the day my relatives were also flying in. Quick hellos later, we started the Ganesh pooja in my room (can you believe it?). The pooja mostly had my mom and me sitting through it till my mom’s brother and my mama was called in as I put on my choora.
I was very particular about the choora, and honestly, I drove Pragati mad over it. I didn’t want to wear red and the ones I’d seen were not me. Most of the Instagram references I liked were chooras that were customized for brides in Canada, and couldn’t be made here. So Pragati messaged on my many Facebook groups and got me a few choora designs that were customized. The ones we chose were made from cloth, were super elegant and had 2 shades of pink.
