The only thing as important as your wedding is your best friends’ wedding. Not only do you have to make sure that everything goes as planned, but also that you look gorgeous. Here’s Maya and her video, on Truly Bridal with some awesome styling tips for your best friends’ wedding.
Eat healthy and be fit. Tone up with walking, running or yoga sessions. In fact, tell the bride to join you and do a couple of Surya namaskars (which is a full-body workout) followed by a few minutes of pranayama. This will also help you (and her) relax, calm down and take stock of the situation. Vegetable juices, fruits, lean proteins and nuts should be your best friends.
Hit the Salon: Ensure all the painful parts of the beauty regime (hair removal, etc.) are done prior to the D-Day. Make sure you get a brightening facial to add a glow to your face. Opt for a hair spa BEFORE the functions to ensure your hair gains more strength and has an added lustre to it.
Dress for the occasion. Maia Sethna and Be For Beauty agree that for day functions like Mehendi and Haldi ceremonies, you must go for light and bright colours along with lighter jewellery. For the night, you can opt for an Anarkali/dress with embellishments or embroidery done on the neck. Make sure the silhouette flatters your figure. There’s nothing better or sexier than a dhoti or a lehenga sari. Opt for deeper tones like marsala and burgundy for the nights. Pair these up with cushioned flats or comfortable wedges. Lastly, remember not to outdo the bride and still look great by adding some traditional jewellery: hot faves include maangtikkas, statement neckpieces, big earrings and paasas.
Invest in accessories:A neutral based clutch or envelope bag will come in handy more times than you know. You can even go for a pop of colour depending on your ensemble.
