Nail Art Special: Pastels

Nail Art Special: Pastels

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Come summer, and it’s time for your tips to shine. Believe it or not, your nails say a lot about you. This month, as a part of our special ‘Summer Cool’, we decide to feature SEVEN of the freshest and classy nail trends with experts from Imperial Hotel, Delhi.

The concept: The intent was simple. To de-code some great palettes, try my hands at global ramp trends, and not losing my vision, while doing so. I am a 29-year old blogger and I do NOT appreciate over-the-top, loud, floral prints on my hands, or anybody’s hands, whatsoever.

Each of these curated looks are a take on popular trends like pastels, gold and glitter, stickers, and bright colours. Our idea was to bring a sense of elegance and creativity at the best, and we believe that our touted experts Hayley Louise Dack, Director, Imperial Spa and Salon and nail artist Harsha Rawat, did just that.

The products: We used Bio Sculpture Range in this series, and I am happy to say that it’s one of the stable, long-lasting nail polish brands in the world. Harsha (as well as the Salon staff) has undergone vigorous training to ensure each of these nail art treatments are hygienic and, well, beautiful. To read more about Bio Sculpture, I suggest you scroll down towards the end of the post.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1879″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]The basics: It’s very important you make sure your nails are clean, buffed and filed before you start any nail tutorial. For me, Harsha, the nail artist at Imperial Salon prepped my nails Apricot Kernel Scrub, Potpourri Aqua Soak and Hand Butter. She also used sanitizers as well as a cuticle oil for healthy, strong nails. If you’re big on nail art at home, I suggest you buy basics like nail hardeners, cuticle cream and oils to make sure you do it right.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1880″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]Pastels are my all-time favourite ‘coz they suite every occasion: work, home, work-from home. But we thought about taking up a notch up with pretty pinks by adding a bit of gold to it.

So here’s what we achieved. To get this look, you need to:

  1. Apply base coat.
  2. Apply 1 coat of light to medium pink. Harsha used Pink Marshmallow from the Pinks Collection.
  3. Give it a bit of edge by adding a sticker to only one nail. Cut a small part of a nail sticker of your choice and put it on the nail by using a fine metal nail tool.
  4. Take your time to position it according to your liking.
  5. Secure the stick on art onto nail and press out air bubbles.

Final Word: I think this look would definitely spruce up a Monday or any other weekday. It’s not too loud and has a bit of spunk with a hint of gold in it. If you’re doing it at home, make sure your nail tools are sterilized to avoid any infections.

Be For Beauty would love for you to experience a nail ritual at The Imperial Salon, so stay tuned to this space.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1886″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]About Bio Sculpture

One of the differential factors that make Bio Sculpture a touted brand is because it is the ONLY brand to have undergone an independent clinical trial and to have received a 5 star safety rating. The spa collection (can be used at home) has a variety of collections, and each of these pigments lasts for about 10 days (without fading). On the plus side, the spa collection contains botanicals, vitamins and anti-oxidants. With a highly trained staff, the Imperial Salon is a great place to try The Bio Sculpture Gel Range. The coating is flexible, protects and conditions your nails and lasts for about 3 weeks. All nail polishes are toluene free, DBP and formaldehyde free.

About Hayley Louis Dack

Highly experienced in holistic therapies, medi spa, Ayurveda and water therapies, Ms Dack is an expert in wellness. She has about three decades of experience in holistic regimes having been trained in Australia and travelled to many parts of the world. Be For Beauty had the fortune of meeting and interacting with Ms Dack in our spa special back in December 2014. In this special, she was very patient in listening to my concept and ensured that we got the best.

Imperial Salon

One of my favourite places in the city, Imperial Salon is open to all guests who appreciate luxury and service. Be it pedicures, facials, hair spas or bridal make-up, the staff is so well trained that every experience at the Salon is bright and indulgent.
