[vc_row full_width=”” parallax=”” parallax_image=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]This photoshoot is a part of the series that I’m doing to lend some inspiration on #whattowear this Winter season.
Last week, we were all about keeping it comfy and did a look inspired by long silhouttes with a Cocoon Sweater. This week, I’d thought I’d do something more functional, and decided to show you what I’d probably wear to work.
[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1771″ border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_single_image image=”1773″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]The Theme: Of course you want to be taken seriously at work (NO SHIT), you know what you’re doing but that really doesn’t mean you got to rock a boring suit. Print-on-print was something we all saw this summer and it’s just about switching to this season’s favourites.
[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1774″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]The Trend: After houndstooth ripped its way through last year, dog tooth was seen on the runways. Not only do I find the dog tooth sophisticated but I feel they also add a bit of definition (or shall I say curves) to those of us who are on the, ummm, lighter side of the weighing scale.
[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1775″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]How To: Coming to the blouse/shirt, a lot of times, I would have paired this skirt with a solid hue, but I guess the print on this shirt is quite refined (can’t really be seen from far away) and doesn’t stand out like a sore thumb since it’s the same colour palette.
You can add stockings to this outfit since it’s getting colder as the days go by. Team it up with a sharp blazer or a structured overcoat when you’re stepping out.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1776″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]A close-up for you to take a look at the make-up
[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1777″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]The Make-up: Here’s a close-up of my face to show you the make-up that I used. Overall, I’d suggest to keep it very clean and to-the-point with make-up. I used a medium coverage foundation with an eyeliner and a lipstick. When you’re short on time, you can use a CC cream with SPF and use a pressed powder. I am crazy about pinks and oranges but you should really wear a shade that you’re comfy with. [/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1778″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]Colour Scheme: I love black and white. In fact, these are the 2 colours you’d probably find most of my wardrobe to be full of, and I think these colours are classic and work for the workspace. So be it presentation, a boring meeting or just a regular Wednesday, you’re bound to make the most of it :)[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1779″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]End Note: OK So I got a little comfy during the shoot, and you should too, especially if you wear heels. I am crazy about ballerinas and find them to a be a go-to-accessory for when I want to be all-about-business.
