[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css_animation=””]Hi guys,
So today I am going to tell you a bit about Rene Furterer Astera Sensitive and Irritated Scalp Soothing Shampoo. I thought the timing is good for reviewing such a product for two reasons.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1240″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]

Scalp-help
A lot of times hair care can revolve around split-ends and hairfall and we end up FORGETTING about the SCALP altogether. The scalp and our roots are as important as our ends. Please remember a scalp massage is what boosts blood circulation which is what helps hair growth. It is your scalp that takes all the wear and tear from tight buns and ponies, and dirt and sweat too.
I feel terribly bad for people with sensitive scalp, they can’t colour their hair and most hair products leave them feeling very itchy on the head (not a good thing to look at, and feel). Plus, it being June, and monsoon season beaming upon us, I think most of us are battling the extra moisture.
The Product:
And as a blogger, I am very happy to see that there are more scalp-related shampoos and products available in India. And one such product is Rene Furterer’s Astera Sensitive and Irritated Scalp Soothing Shampoo. The brand is based out Paris (I’ve used their products before–they Colour Protecting Range is great) and is an upmarket brand. A bottle of Scalp Soothing Shampoo costs Rs 1,300 in India, which is very EXPENSIVE for most Indian consumers.
The Lowdown
The shampoo claims to have witch hazel and astera flower extracts as well as eucalyptus and mint oil. The mint is noticeable as soon as I take the shampoo in my palm. The texture of the shampoo is light, and less creamier than other shampoos I use. I have to say, the effect of mint and eucalyptus has a therapeutic effect on your mind, especially since it’s so hot in Delhi. However, the shampoo doesn’t lather very well and I have long hair, so I had some more shampoo. Be sure to massage the shampoo on the scalp with your fingertips without tangling your hair.
You can rinse off the shampoo very easily, without any weird smells.
To sum it all up
Does it leave you feeling freshn Yes
Is it effective in soothing the scalp: Yes, but not for long. Mind you, the review is based on 3 washes.
Does the product lather well? No
Does it clean hair thoroughly ? Yes, but you may have to use more product if you have long hair like me
Did it leave my hair soft and shiny ? Yes but I used a conditioner afterwards.
Pricing? A bit too steep for Indian markets. This product, is meant for a segment that can afford specialized care for scalp treatment.
Last word
I think a reddened, itchy scalp can be a serious scalp. So do what we all do. Try it before you buy it.
Start out with a 15 ml pack and see if it makes a change to your scalp, and THEN buy the big bottle.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
