Chances are most of you have seen over the new ad for L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Collection Star La Vie En Rose with all the goddesses from the world. For most of you who follow me on Instagram, (or just know me) know that I am a PINK LIPPER freak. I think you can never have enough of pink lip colour in your beauty kitty: a soft pink is ideal for Tuesday afternoons whereas a pop pink adds an extra zing to your makeup.
Let’s get on with it, shall we? So I received 5 products whereas the collection has 17 products: 7 Signature Pinks by Color Riche Moist Mat, 5 Exclusive Pinks in L’Extraordinaire Mat and 4 vibrant pink nail polishes. We got 2 lippers: Delicate Rose by Aishwarya Rai, Delicate Rose by Doutzen Kroes, 2 lipglosses called Peony by Fan Bingbing, Lilac by Gong Li and Sonam Kapoor’s nail polish.
Packaging
The first thing most of us notice is the packaging. And there is good news–I LURVE it. I actually think it’s a good change from the golden tubes I carry around with me (with a lot of love). I haven’t dropped any of them yet but I’d like to believe the body of the lipper would save the colour pigment. The lip glosses have an added zing: they have a glass case in between so that you KNOW the shade you’re putting on!
Colours
Delicate Pink by Aishwarya Rai is a light, soft pink. I think this would serve great as an everyday colour or something you can just put on without feeling conscious.
Delicate Rose by Doutzen Kroes is a brighter, more poppier (is that a word?) shade of pink and is great for someone like me who isn’t afraid to wear a bright pink.
Lilac by Gong Li is a very light, almost baby pink and is one of the most classic shades for a lip gloss.
Peony by Fan BingBing: A soft colour, this is obviously an adaptation from the lighter pink peonies (a lot of brands have named their darker shades, Peony). This is basically a shade of pink we’ve all worn while growing up.
Sonam Kapoor’s Pink Nail polish is almost a flesh tone. Use one coat to look minimal chic.
Texture
Both numbers: Aishwarya’s and Doutzen’s lipsticks are matte in finish so it maybe a good idea to keep your lips soft before you apply the lipstick. I use a dab of lip balm but it’ll be best to slough off dry flakes with a quick lip scrub.
Take 2 minutes out to make sure your lips don’t look dry. Mix half a spoon of granulated sugar (white) and rosewater. Use a toothbrush to apply it to gently onto your lips. Massage for a minute. You’re welcome!
The glosses are not super sticky, which is a relief in summers. They’ve got a steady wand to help apply the gloss and the texture is mildly moisturizing too.
The nail polish by Sonam Kapoor is a regular nail paint with a semi gloss finish. You can use a coat of top matte coat, if that’s your game.
Pricing
The lipsticks are priced at Rs 995, the glosses are at Rs 950 (on the higher side for a lipgloss) and the nail paints can be bought for Rs 299. You can buy them at major beauty stores and online stores like Nykaa.
