Let me put it this way: if you want a simple solution to dehydrated skin, you must try Vichy Aqualia Thermal Power Serum.
Vichy is a French drugstore brand and is known for its potent ingredients that it uses with a pharmaceutical approach. It’s a favourite amongst acne prone or sensitive skin(ned) women, like me.
I got this product about 20 days ago when New Delhi was in a weird funk. While the temperature was an average of 40 degrees, my skin was dry. And no, I don’t have dry skin as such but the weather made it a bit rough and parched.
How to use
Use clean (and dry fingers) to massage any serum on your face and neck for 25-60 seconds. Use circular motions and pat the serum onto your skin.
I used a pump or two of Vichy Aqualia Thermal Power Serum and massaged it on my face for about 30 seconds (a serum should be worked on for a minimum of a minute) and the effect was instantaneous.
Your skin feels soft, a bit more luminous and hydrated.
Since the base of this serum is Vichy’s Thermal Spa Water, it’s oil-free and non-comedogenic.
The bottle says acne-genic which can be a concern for most women, including me because I have combination skin. Plus it’s so hot that when you use a serum at night, you wake up with a zit or oily skin or clogged pores. But the experience has been otherwise with Vichy Aqualia Thermal Power Serum.
In fact I looked up reviews on Amazon and a lot of people with super irritated or sensitive skin (even with rosacea) have used it and say it’s a good moisturizer.
How to Make the Most Of It
If you’re above 30 (or smoke), then you should use a hydrating serum in any case. What it does for your skin is boosts collagen and gets rid of free radicals. This one has glycols, hyaluronic acid and lots of minerals.
Well you can use it before you apply your makeup and sunscreen. Most times I use a face cream before applying a CC cream or a concealer but with this serum, you don’t need much.
If, like me, you live in a very polluted city then apply it in evenings on a clean face as you Netflix and chill–and wake up to beautiful, soft skin.
The serum is priced at Rs 1800 for 30 ml which is frankly not too much to pay for a serum. Many Indian brands like Lakme Absolute Perfect Radiance Intense White Serum, Rs 850 or ZA Perfect Solution Youth Whitening Serum, Rs 1250 but what the product offers and delivers is very different. If you have problematic skin or trust pharma brands for your skin, you must try it.
