Review: Vichy Dercos Nourishing Repair Masque

Review: Vichy Dercos Nourishing Repair Masque

Hi guys, today I’m going to review Vichy Dercos Nourishing Repair Masque.

About Vichy

Vichy is a French drugstore brand and is known for its potent ingredients that it uses with a pharmaceutical approach. It’s a favourite amongst acne prone or sensitive skin (ned) women, like me. I am currently using their Aqualia Thermal Power Serum on a weekly basis too.

What You Should Know
It’s been a long time since my hair health has been A-OK. Stress is a huge part of life and yes, it affects your hair the most. While I usually use a colour protecting conditioner in most washes, I use a hair masque on days I just need that extra hydration or care.

How To Use
Use on damp hair after shampoo–apply on strands only, not on the roots. Another thing that I tried was to use the masque before washing my hair, and I gotta say, that was a fail.

The experience

FYI, I have used this product for 2 months and about 5-6 washes and I have to say it’s OK.

The good part:
-It’s NOT one of those hair masques that’ll take a lot of your hair out.
-It’s paraben and colourant free. So you know you’re not causing more damage to your hair.
-It’s got a cocktail of ingredients including Keratin which is one of the building blocks for growth.
-It’s good for sensitive scalps, like mine, because it’s Vichy!

The really good part:

-It has a UV filter to repair sun damage and protect your hair colour against harsh rays.
-Your hair will be tangle free.
-It’ll take sometime but you’ll see a difference in breakage.

The not so good part:
-The effect is not dramatic. Sometimes I just want my hair to feel softer and silkier without heading to the salon, and this sadly didn’t happen.
-The packaging says it’s light on silicone, which is good, but I still felt my hair a bit limp and heavy after usage.
-It doesn’t add that extra shine.
