Prep your skin this Wedding Season

Prep your skin this Wedding Season

It almost seems as if everybody is getting married this year. And as happy as you are for them, you want your skin and your personality to shine. Bring on your A-game to all these weddings, take good–NO, smart care of your skin.

Follow these tips and you’re bound to turn a few MORE heads around.

Drink Up: Start your day with a litre of water on an empty stomach. Not only is it great for detoxing, and flushing out toxins out of your system, but also a boost to your metabolism. Chances are you’ll be downing a few drinks so make sure you make up for it by sipping on coconut water and fresh fruit juices.

Use Aloe Vera: Most of us know are well-versed with the goodness of aloe vera. This plant is easily available and its properties make it go-to fix for skin and hair. Use aloe filled products in a gel or juice format especially if you’re prone to acne or breakouts.

Enjoy radiant, glossy-looking skin: Wouldn’t it be perfect if you didn’t have to apply too much of a base or a highlighter and ace the glossy look anyway? So take out 10 minutes before bath time and try this fix: take 1 tablespoon of gram flour and mix it with unsweetened curd at home to form a paste. Apply liberally and keep it on for 15 minutes and rinse off. This takes care of dry patches and adds a natural glow to your skin.

Make your own bronzer: Great for the gut, papaya can be a natural fix for a natural shine. If you start doing this a couple of days before events, you’ll be good to go. Chandni recommends mashing a few slices of papaya and mixed with milk cream (malai) and applying it for 15 minutes. Wash off and do it consistently to see a change. Do this on your back, arms, neck and tummy to look smoking hot in a saree.

Follow up with salon appointments: Besides these, go for regular facials 3 days before a big wedding you’re attending. That’s when your skin looks brighter, firmer and youthful. Lastly, if opting for a body wax/bleach, do it 2-3 days in advance so that if there’s any redness or breakouts, your skin has enough time to recover and look wonderful.
