Hi guys!
It’s been so long since I wrote on the blog. Well, we got a great order for Diwali on customized gift hampers (follow me on Instagram if you don’t already), and after that I got down with the flu.
Well this look is a part of the Jabong contest, and also my attempt to show you what I’d ideally like to wear during festivities like Diwali.
The Open Slit Kurta has been a huge trend this season. From celebs like Deepika Padukone to Karisma Kapoor to the likes of WLFW/AIFW/LFW, many designers have used the idea of a slit kurta to extend their creativity.
The open slit kurta is a perfect piece of fusion of traditional and modern wear. For someone like me who doesn’t invest in ethnic wear, it’s essential I pick the right once ‘coz I have very few pieces.
My Look
I hunted for a open slit kurta on Myntra, Miss-A-More Clothing, Roposo or even Craftsvilla but I am glad I didn’t!
I actually found this kurta at Delhi Blind School Mela by an upcoming designer Shivani. It caught my eye instantly because it’s light, it’s got chikankari work and a beautiful translucent patch in between. You can pair this with a skirt, palazzos but since I decided to pair this with a pair of white straight fit trousers from Lara Karen, Jabong. Finally, I bought these awesome earrings aka moong baalis on Amazon. In and I’m totally in love with them! Since I don’t wear heels, I decided to wear gold-hued flats from Closet 37, and I’d be happy to wear them with my Kolhapuris/Juttis too.
