When we got a beautifully wrapped red and white box from Sudio Sweden, we knew they really walked the talk. Most of us who pick up headphones for commuting, gymming know that most headphones are all about plastics and wraps—not this time. While Pragati showed her visible excitement as soon as we received our two boxes, we unboxed them together when she came to meet me in New Delhi.

Unboxing Sudio Sweden VASA BLA earphones and REGENT headphones

When Pragati first opened her Vasa Bla box, she found a beautiful pair of rose pink in-earphones finished with gold. It feels super light and comes up to 14 grams. The package also has a clip that can be super useful to tag onto your collar along with four earplugs in different sizes. Elegance never left their minds as the box also houses a patent leather pouch for Vasa Bla earphones. It also has a charging cable, user manual and a warranty card that looks as good as a black American Express.

When I unboxed my Sudio Regent headphones, I was stoked. A beautiful set of white earphones with gold folding clips greeted me cheerfully. Unlike the Vasa Bla, the Regent headphones also have an audio cable, meaning you can use them as regular wired headphones too. It too, has a charging pod, user manual, and a guarantee card. I also got a free pair of headphone caps in white marble that complements the pop-socket on my iPhone6S.

Looks: Sudio Sweden VASA BLA earphones and REGENT headphones

We like the idea of making ear pieces a discerning accessory. In an ideal world, headphones and other sound accessories should be just as distinguished as watches or sunglasses. Since our blog loves brand philosophies that respect aesthetics and presentation, we completely give Sudio the credit of making their products visually appealing and super elegant.
Apparently, the name is also inspired by Phil Collins’s song Susudio. Legend says a company co-founder saw the singer struggle with his pair of headphones when recording the song.

Functionality: Sudio Sweden VASA BLA earphones and REGENT headphones

The Vasa Bla earphones have the control functions below the right-hand side of the ear piece. The controls may be a little hard to work with initially, but becomes easier as you use it. Due to the length of these in-ear headphones, it’s best to wear them from behind your ears. I gotta be honest, it’s not the best fit for my ears yet since one side is slightly heavier than the other (USP port versus controls). I’m going to try clipping these on so that they don’t fall out. You can charge it for up to 100 min and use it for days.

The Regent Earphones are definitely heavy since they have ear cushions making a whole lotta 177 grams. The Swedish design shines through when you see the foldable hinges making these headphones easier to store and carry around. I too charged my headphones for more than an hour since I wanted the charge to last for a week. The only issue I had was connecting and pairing it with my laptop. A wait for 5-10 minutes each time I use my headphones may make me use the sound cable.

Sound Quality: Sudio Sweden VASA BLA earphones and REGENT headphones

I am currently using BOSE Noise Cancelling Headphones so I gotta be honest my comparison notes will be a little biased. Since the earphones were not fitting my ear jacks too well, it affected the sound too. When clipping them or putting on another set of ear jacks seals the sound, it also makes it clearer. However, these are the only Bluetooth earphones I have, so I’m going to look forward to using them on my commute to college and my gym time.

I only use my iPhone in-ear phones for the past year and I mostly use them when I’m working or heading out in an Uber for blog events and meetings. First up, the headphones cancel up to 80% noise around you. This is an ideal feature for me since I need to tune out while I’m writing my columns or planning my blog calendars. I am quite happy with the sound too: everything from Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You to Yiruma’s hour long melodies sounded crisp and clear. The only issue I faced, was a bit of ear pain when I’m lying down and binge watching on Netflix.

I can’t wait to wear them to my events and outings! Overall, the Sudio Vasa Bla Earphones and Regent Headphones are a welcome addition!
