With monsoon (and humidity) in full swing, my hair is going through a rough time. So I thought it’d be a good time to one of my favourite salons in the city, Imperial Salon, Hotel Imperial, New Delhi and try the new Kerastase Fusio Dose Instant Booster Hair Spa. A shorter hair spa or hair ritual, Kerastase Fusio Dose takes as little as 20 minutes minus time spent styling.
What My Hair Needed
Simply put, my hair needs as much love as I do. I won’t lie, I have enjoyed many years of long, and STRONG hair while growing up. As I grew older, my hair experiments were on the rise. From streaking to straightening, I have literally burnt my hair. But over the last 2 years, I have become more responsible. I don’t use a hair iron unless I have to meet the Pope (which is very often), I oil my hair; I use a hairdryer on cool air settings and I colour my hair as responsibly as I can.

My hair reaches the middle of my back (a little below the bra strap) and looked a bit frizzy before I went for the hair spa. More than looking frazzled, I get very concerned when my hair looks dehydrated or dry. Since I keep it long, split-ends are always a worry for me.
Experience At Hotel Imperial and Imperial Salon
As I walked through the corridors of Hotel Imperial with my friend and colleague, Ruchi Jain, I was instantly calmed. The weather is getting better in Delhi, and the ambience of the hotel, the balance of the chakras at the Imperial Salon is an instant soother.
I think if I have to spend a dime on myself, and indulge, I’d rather spend it in Imperial Salon than in an average salon in my neighbourhood.
While Imperial Spa is only open to its residents, Imperial Salon is open to us all.

Kerastase Fusio Dose Hair Ritual: Step By Step
A short walk later, I step into the salon as I am escorted by the gentleman who will be doing my hair spa. Kerastase advises all salon treatments to happen after they diagnose your hair and scalp. This is very depressing for me ‘coz I don’t like what the test looks like (worse than an X-Ray).
Note: if this is the first time you’re getting this spa, insist on getting a hair and scalp analysis to customise your hair ritual.
The Process: Kerastase Fusio Dose Hair Ritual
As I ask for a cup of freshly made coffee, the salon professional has decided my hair needs an instant boost (I couldn’t agree more), as well as colour protection. He uses Kerastase Discipline Bain Fluidealiste Shampoo and Conditioner: I am familiar with the range since it’s sulfate-free. It also promises to make your hair frizz-free.
He then mixed the colour protector into the white and green Kerastase Fusio Dose vial. Once the vial is ready, he thoroughly went through my hair by parting it many sections. You can see the video here. After keeping it on for 5 mins, you rinse and blow-dry.
As he started running a brush through my wet hair, I knew it was a job well done. They seemed tangle-free and moisturised. A quick yet thorough blow-dry later, this is how my hair looked right after the hair spa.

Time Taken
The ritual lasted for 15-20 minutes, and the blow-dry lasted another 15 minutes. This has got to be the fastest hair spa I’ve gotten done in a long time. If you have somewhere to go and want to treat your hair prior to that, this is a must-try.
After-effects
2 days after the hair spa, my hair looks fabulous. They are tangle-free, moisturised and almost lady-like (haha!). The best part is when I take off my hair tie, there’s lesser hair that comes out.
This is something I wasn’t expecting, so I am pleasantly surprised.
Price
1,500. Prices may vary in other salons.
