My first visit to Imperial Salon, New Delhi was on a rainy morning seven years ago. To this day, I always come out looking happier.
And that’s not only because of the service but also because of the ambience and the people who work there.
If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you know I went to Imperial, New Delhi earlier this week to review their Monsoon Hair Solutions at Imperial Salon. This was followed by a tasting session of the hotel’s customised Mango Menu at Spice Route.
And here’s how it went:
The ambience at Imperial Hotel is always welcoming. Unlike most hotels that now host a more modern ambience, I like Imperial because of its colonial regality. A few quick stories on my Instagram with my favourite spots in the hotel, I headed to the Salon & Spa where I met Tara Herron, Director of Imperial Spa and Salon. I was quickly briefed through my schedule and loved the thoughtfulness that had gone into the same.
Dinesh ji, who’d worked on my hair before started by asking me questions about my hair colour. Since it was a root touch-up, I opted for a natural brown (number 4) from L’Oreal Inoa. After smooth sailing through the colour, I got my both my hands and toes painted at their pedicure station.
The best part about the staff is that they’re immaculate in their service. A fifteen-minute session of filing, buffing and oiling later, it was time to wash the colour off.
Once we got back to the station, both Dinesh and I realised my hair was very weak and he suggested cutting about 3 inches of my hair. Thanks to the season and my chronic flu coupled with many antibiotics, my length looked thin and limp. As he went about my haircut, I was joined by Tara who suggested the same and also spoke at length about living a more holistic, balanced life. After attending a wellness session with her, I was keen to bring up some topics like negativity, balance and she was very forthcoming in helping me see the real reason behind hairfall. She also suggested taking a little bit of extra help from supplements immediately.
My hair looked much shorter, which worried me a bit—but I did want them to be healthier. It didn’t hurt that Dinesh ji was so good at it.
While my hair was still damp, it was time for the last leg for Hair Ritual which was a hair spa. Since my hair was already washed and conditioned, he first applied a booster onto my hair followed by Kerastase Discipline Hair Mask. I’ve reviewed the Kerastase Discipline Treatment in detail, so you can check it out here.
Twenty minutes later, my hair was rinsed (not washed) and blow-dried.
I left the salon feeling happier and healthier. Like always.
