[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]We thought it’s best you hear it straight from the horse’s mouth. Our guest columnist and leading makeup artist, Vidya Tikari shares her favourite makeup hacks that are ideal for the summer season as well as rushed mornings. Let’s begin.
F-F-FOUNDATION: I believe that a combination of a cool colour (light pink undertones) and a warm skintone( orange and yellow undertones) foundation can lend a natural finish on the skin. I personally use a mixture of the same foundation colors for myself everyday and find it very natural and smooth.
EYE DRAMA: I have small eyes so I find the smokey eye look to be very useful. If you’re fond of eye makeup, and have small eyes too, I’d suggest you try this. Start with using a bronze as the base and then use a dark brown eyeshadow on the crease line. Add a touch of gold in the centre as a highlighter and is a quick fix to enhance the eyes. Use a nude or white kohl pencil on the waterline of your eyes; save the blacks and greys for the eyelids. Apply 2-3 coats of mascara and you are ready to go.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1898″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]THE POWERFUL BROWS: Your brows do more to your look than you know. Some basic hacks can actually make a difference in your look. I use a matte or a taupe brown pencil (not a black one!). Outline your eyebrows from the underside as well as the top of the brows to give it more definition. Use a mascara wand to blend the two lines together to make it look more natural.
LIPS: I usually apply a lipstick of my choice, and then use a lip stain on top. Not only does it add a bit of shine and a pop of colour, but also avoids your lips from flaking. For those days I want to do something different, I opt for an ombre effect. It’s fairly simple: use a lip pencil 4-5 shades darker than your skintone to outline your lips. Make sure it’s thicker on the edges; fill in lips with a lipstick of your choice and you’re sorted.
CHEEKS: Of course it’s important to highlight your cheekbones and let your features shine but I find women overusing the blush. If you’re short on time, I suggest you do what I do, and TAP and the blush instead of making huge strokes. This’ll blend in no time.
