I’m crazy for fragrances, I try to pick up as many candles, incense sticks and oils as I can. And I’m happy to tell you about my new find: Song Of India
The first time I got a package from Song Of India, I had a huge smile on my face. Beautifully packaged products, organic fragrances, Sanchit Mathur’s Song Of India is big on personalization.
Song Of India: How It Started
Natural products accompanied with scent palettes found overwhelming responses in overseas markets. And in 1972, Song of India was born.
How Does It Work?
We draw our inspiration from our rich cultural heritage, nature, and the ancient science of Ayurveda says, Sanchit Mathur.
The age-old tradition of formulating beautiful scents using essential oils is still followed to the tee. We use the choicest of ingredients for our Organic Goodness range of products, sourced directly from producers who have organic farms. Organic produce is free of synthetic chemical inputs like fertilizers, pesticides, antibiotics, food additive or GMO products. Our range of organic candles contains soy wax and beeswax. The diffusers are prepared from high-quality sugarcane alcohol. All the essential oils used are organically certified.
Here are a few of the products I got to try from their handmade and organic range, Organic Goodness.
Madurai Jasmine Creamy Organic Soy Wax & Beeswax Candle
Growing up in India, the smell of Mogra and Jasmine have a special significance to me. Beautifully packaged, the candle is made of natural soy and can burn up to 50 hours. Rs 650 for 250 grams
Dehn Al Oudh Room Spray
Oudh is actually an oriental fragrance and I’ve seen people have an extreme reaction to it, either they like it or don’t. It’s very woody with sweeter notes towards the middle and end. A whiff of Song of India ‘s Dehn Al Oudh and you’re triggered into thinking about old shops and restaurants that used to smell of sandalwood, honey, patchouli and a bit of orange.
Rs 425 for 100 ml
Nagpuri Narangi Orange Organic Ambience Diffuser with Reeds
I think citrus notes can help elevate your mood which is why I even loved the sound of Nagpuri Narangi. I’ve been using it for a few weeks and I think it’s not overpowering at all. Instead, it tends to fuse it with the environment. Remember to flip the reeds sticks 2-3 times in the decanter initially to saturate them with the fragrant oil. Rs 750 for 100 ml
Desi Gulab Rose Organic Aroma Essential
A personal favourite, this one is an ode to the Indian Rose. If you’re a fan of subtle scents, this one is a must have! Add it to your pot pourri or add a few drops of it to your diffuser. Rs 325 for 10 ml.
White Sage and Frankincense Masala Incense Sticks
I’m actually very particular about keeping a few boxes of incense sticks in my room (Jasmine being my staple). Both packets are great smelling and are long-lasting. Rs 95 per box.
