There are a lot of grooms who are uncomfortable at the thought of wearing jewellery on their big day. Fear not, ‘coz Be For Beauty along with Truly Bridal has got you covered. Here is a video featuring Kalyani Desai, a groomswear stylist.
Feel free to use these few tips to look sophisticated and classy on your wedding day:
#1 Wedding Rings: Keep things classy by choosing a thin gold or platinum band. A lot of guys choose white gold, which has a more modern and contemporary outlook and will blend into everyday life. If you like diamonds then go for a thicker ring with a diamond in between. My personal favourite is a gold band with a drop diamond.
#2 Brooches: Match the stones of the brooch (ruby, emeralds, etc.) along with the colour of your safa, so that they complement each other. Try a few of them on your headgear to make sure it’s not heavy and doesn’t look too big on you. You can even use one of your bride’s pieces as a brooch while she wears the other trinket as a maangtika!
#3 Long chains: A three tier long chain is a classic Indian match for an achkan or a bandhgala! You can opt for plain and simple chains or opt for Kundan and Polki pieces to keep the look more traditional.
#4 Cuff Links: Chances are you’ll be wearing a three piece suit for cocktail, engagement or your reception. While that doesn’t leave much, you can add a few details to your ensemble by wearing gold or diamond cuff links. You can even get customized links with the couples’ initials to mark this special day.
#5 Bracelets: Finally, on those days you’re chilling with your friends and family or enjoying a dancing session; do up a single kurta by adding a simple bracelet.
